Shepherd thrilled with co-star's success
Coronation Street star Jack P. Shepherd has revealed that he was thrilled with Michelle Keegan's success at the British Soap Awards.

Michelle, who plays Jack's on-screen girlfriend Tina McIntyre, walked away with the Best Newcomer award last weekend. Meanwhile, Jack won Villain of the Year for his role as twisted teen David Platt.

Recent reports have claimed that the pair are an item in real life, but they have repeatedly denied the suggestions and Jack has since reunited with his girlfriend Lauren Shippey.

"We both laughed when we saw what had been written," Jack told the Daily Star Sunday. "Michelle is great to work with and we have a right laugh on set. But that's it. I was over the moon for her that she won Best Newcomer."

Speaking about his future on the soap, Jack added: "I'm very happy at Coronation Street. Helen Worth, who plays my mum Gail, is fantastic to work with. I've learned so much from her and consider myself very lucky.

"Although I wouldn't mind getting some of the luck Steve McDonald gets. He owns the pub and the taxi firm. I think it would be great if David became a successful businessman. But at the moment I can't quite see that happening."
