On-location pictures of Liam's funeral in Corrie

Published Friday, Sep 19 2008, 10:47 BST | By Kris Green | 14 comments
The cast and crew of Coronation Street were out in force on location again yesterday for the filming of Liam Connor's (Rob James-Collier) funeral.

Liam's grieving wife Maria (Samia Smith) is forced to come to terms with yet another tragedy in her life following her baby ordeal earlier this year, and as she grieves for the loss of her husband, she also struggles with the news that she's pregnant with Liam's child - the baby that they've been trying to conceive for months.

Meanwhile, a smug Tony Gordon (Gray O'Brien) is in attendance with his cheating fiancée Carla Connor (Alison King). Just what does Tony have up his sleeve to deal with his promiscuous partner?

Carla's departure in late 2008 or early 2009 leads me to believe that their wedding won't run as smoothly as she hopes...

I really don't want Liam to die because I think the producers could of done a lot more with Liam and Carla's relationship. It would of been funny to see Maria catch them out :(

I think the producers have a screw loose how long do we have to put up with this rubbish . I used to love Corrie it made me laugh now however the storylines are so far-fetched, long and drawn out and not worth watching. Sack the writers and producers.

Why do Corrie have to kill off Liam? He is too cute to be killed off.

I know this sotry will pull in lots of viewers but I cant see why people cant just let ONE family be happy on a soap. Not every single family had drama's like this. Cant we have one soap couple that gets to be happy for a while?

Ohh its getting so daft now! Silly storylines, awful characters... what's happening??
Catherine Reece, Hartlepool, on September 20th, 2008
I enjoy Corrie. I do hope the script writers will allow Marie's pregnancy to go through?

It's a shame that Liam dies without ever seeing the baby that Maria's expecting grow up. But after all it's only acting.
Kerry, Essex, on September 20th, 2008
Maria being pregnant is hardly a twist - it was so obvious they were going to do that.
Gina, London, on September 19th, 2008
Awe . . It's so sad. The Connor family are cursed! And to think Maria's pregnant now . . Good twist . . Will miss Liam
Laura, Manchester, on September 19th, 2008
Aww no, pics are making me well up already :( poor Liam, poor Maria being a widowed single mum. Not much luck in the Connor family, first his and Michelle's bro Paul, then baby Paul, now Liam :,( will miss my soap hunk, but hope to see Rob in other projects soon :D
Lauren, Birmingham, on September 19th, 2008
I know it's only a soap but I did love Liam in Corrie and I think its really sad the way he has left and even more so if it does turn out that Maria is pregnant. I'm more gutted about the fact he won't be my weekday entertainment from now on - really hope to see him on something else soon.
Laura, Brigg, on September 19th, 2008
OMG. I know that I'm going to cry. Poor Maria. I hate Tony.
Genevieve Nonad, Manchester, on September 19th, 2008
It's a soap. It's not real. Who cares?
Jen, Swansea, on September 19th, 2008
Oh poor Liam. He was such a good character on the street.
