Poll: Who's Tony most suited to in Corrie?

Published Saturday, Jul 18 2009, 00:02 BST | By Kris Green | 4 comments
Last week, I took a step back from the usual four soaps and turned to The Bill for my poll inspiration. I asked whether you planned to watch ITV's flagship police drama when it moved to 9pm on Thursday.

The majority of those who voted (61.7%) said that they'd give the revamped episodes a go, while 18.7% opted for the 'I don't like the sound of the new eps' option. The remaining 19.6% weren't sure and decided that they might give it a go.

From what I've seen, it's definitely worth a watch - if only out of curiosity to start with. You never know, you might find that you become an avid fan all over again! The first episode's good but the second episode's even better.

If you'd like to read a little more about the revamped episodes, then have a look at the links below:

Don't forget, The Bill now airs at 9pm on Thursdays from next week (July 23).

Now for this week's poll in which I ask 'Who's Tony most suited to in Corrie?'

Over the last few months, we've watched killer Tony Gordon (Gray O'Brien) befriending Maria Connor (Samia Smith), the woman that he widowed. In some parts it's über creepy, while in others their chemistry is entirely believable. More creepy than not, though.

But does Tony really want Maria? Or is he just using her to ease his guilty conscience? Is he helping her with baby Liam for his own selfish reasons or are his generous moves selfless acts? I'm not sure to be honest. One thing evident, though, is that Maria's falling/fallen for him hook, like and sinker.

But what of Tony's wife Carla (Alison King)? Gray himself admitted that he doesn't think Tony wants Carla any more because Maria's offered him a new start.

Has she?

It'll be gripping viewing when Carla returns and from what I've heard, it's one not to be missed.

With that in mind, who do you think Coronation Street's murderous factory boss Tony Gordon is most suited to? Maria? Carla? Natasha? Or someone else?
