Coronation Street actress Kym Marsh is the latest victim of a Twitter hoaxer (@KymMarsh) as the owner of the account - impersonating Kym - tweeted that she's leaving the show to record another album.

I can confirm that this is 100% pure bullsh*t.

Reacting to the news that she was allegedly on Twitter, she told me this afternoon: "How funny - I'm not quitting, I'm not releasing an album and I'm not even on Twitter - I don't have the time!"

Oh, and @bev_c isn't Corrie landlady Bev Callard, either.

Don't people have better things to be doing?

This is so shocking, when this happens it kind of puts trivial stuff like the Samoan tsunami into perspective. How will Kym and Bev Callard get over this atrocity? I'm so upset for them. Is there a helpine to call for comforting advice? Because I haven't stopped crying with grief since I heard.
