Here are the first on-location pictures of Coronation Street's New Year wedding.

The cast and crew of the Weatherfield soap were out in force yesterday filming in Manchester for the show's first wedding of 2010 between unlucky-in-love Gail Platt (Helen Worth) and her in-debt-up-to-his-eyeballs lover Joe McIntyre (Reece Dinsdale).

The pair look happy enough as they arrive at the register office, but with the knowledge that Reece is quitting the ITV serial next year, is this the beginning of the end for his character?

It would have been nice for Gail to have had a lasting marriage this time. The story lines are always the same and are now getting boring.

I think its a bit of an obvious storyline. Once Gail marries Joe she will end up being responsible for all his debts when he eventually gets bumped off next year. More misery for Gail... Awww!!!
