The summer soap preview in this week's TV Times reveals that Carla's brother Rob, played by Marc Baylis, turns up on the cobbles just as the factory boss is having a big bust-up with Peter.
Rob immediately gets involved by jumping to Carla's defence as she rows with her partner, leaving Peter stunned when he discovers the identity of the new arrival.
As we reported a while ago, Rob will be helping to look after Underworld while Carla takes her break from Weatherfield.
It has also now been revealed that Rob hires Eva Price as a machinist for the factory, which will no doubt lead to their rumoured romance storyline. It's unclear whether this will be a permanent arrangement, but it could be a good opportunity to see Eva interacting with some new characters.
The big story for Ryan's return will be his drugs problem, but viewers will also see him causing trouble from the very beginning as he accidentally starts a fire at Number 13 in some of his first scenes. We're guessing it will just be a small fire, but perhaps this is how the house's owner Steve gets back involved in Michelle's life with the recent news that the pair could be reuniting.
Look out for Rob's arrival on July 9 and Ryan's return on July 18.
