Should Coronation Street's new boss bring back Toyah Battersby? - poll

Toyah Battersby was one of Coronation Street's best-loved characters - certainly the best-loved Battersby - during the time in which she graced the cobbles.

Nine years have passed since Toyah decided to up sticks and leave the light drizzle of Weatherfield for the bright lights of London, albeit to help boyfriend Spider launch a juice company. But Toyah remains tied to the Street, if only as a southern retreat for half-sister Leanne whenever her relationship with Peter breaks down.

Two days ago, rumours surfaced that actress Georgia Taylor could be asked to reprise her Corrie role, speculation that was hours later dismissed by bosses.

Nevertheless, Taylor herself has in the past declared her desire to "reinvent" her character, while former co-star and friend Jane Danson believes her return would be "fantastic" for the show.

Will incoming producer Stuart Blackburn, a man who was no stranger to bringing back old characters at Emmerdale, share Danson's enthusiasm for a return?
