It's the end of a Vera

Here are the first pictures from the filming of Vera's funeral.
The cast and crew have been on location for most of this week and despite the sad reason for his return, I'm really glad to see Nigel Pivaro back on the scene as Terry Duckworth.
Now, I haven't had time to check this out because the pap shots landed on my desk late in the day (so I could be jumping to conclusions) but it's a little disappointing not to see Roy Hudd in any of the photographs.
For those of you who aren't familiar with his Weatherfield counterpart, Hudd plays undertaker Archie Shuttleworth who usually appears for the bank of episodes surrounding a character's demise.
With this death being such an iconic one, I would have thought it was almost a cert for a reprisal. There are a few other names from the past that should really be there too if you think about it...
Liz Dawn filmed her final scenes as Vera at the end of last week, while the episode itself is due to air on Friday, January 18.
