Violet and Jamie's Weatherfield escape

Here are the first shots of Coronation Street's Rupert Hill and Jenny Platt filming their final scenes on-location in Manchester.
Almost a year to the day, it was reported that Jenny - who plays barmaid Violet Wilson - was apparently quitting the ITV soap due to the hassle and fame her work caused her. ITV, however, quickly denied the rumours.
Two months later, it was revealed that Rupert - Weatherfield's Jamie Baldwin - was to quit the ITV soap to "pursue other acting opportunities".
Thereafter, it was taken as read that Jenny - his on and off-screen lover - would be leaving with him.
So here we are, one year on - and they're off. The pair don't officially finish filming until next week but these are their final on-screen scenes together.

Well fair enough that two of the world's most boring characters are leaving the Street, but doing that to Sean was harsh! Irritating, yes, but not deserving of abandonment by his two best mates who frankly are the least grateful pair ever.

I think Violet will be glad to leave Weatherfield after the way Sean has been pestering her about her baby. As she and Jamie appears to be lovers again it would make perfect sense for them to settle down, get married and concentrate on being good parents to the baby.

I think it's great what they are doing. Shame to see them go but let's face it, Sean is more than annoying! It'll be funny to see how he reacts.. and are Jamie and Violet a couple in real life??
