Soaps don't often develop their exterior sets so it's refreshing to see Corrie capitalising on their chance to construct more housing at a time when it's inevitable new characters will soon begin descending on the Cobbles.
With the departure of so many familiar faces over the past few months and with more to come, the large cast that Corrie is renowned for housing will definitely be dwindling in numbers.
As for which regulars could take up residence in Victoria Court, keep an ear out in the scripts for subtle hints about certain characters wanting a more luxurious lifestyle. Catching up with Corrie last night, I heard Kelly chatting to the factory girls about how she's using Cosmic Ordering in the hope it brings her money and a flashy new flat...
Or could the new development signal the return of the ever-popular Danny Baldwin? Imagine him and Carla together. Now there's a thought...
Who do you think will end up living in the new flats? What sort of new character would you like to see move to Weatherfield? Let me know your thoughts using the form below!

What Corrie needs is good strong characters moving into the flats with excellent acting skills unlike what is on the cobbles at the moment...

maybe Jerry Morton could get rid of the rest of his family and then move into a new flat without them?

We don't want a lots of newcomers in the flats as I hate the current newcomers in the Street.

With Dan getting more frustrated that his dad has moved into his flat I can see one of the bookies moving the new apartments. Ha, maybe even jack might get a new bachelor pad!

I think that Carla Connor might move into the new 'penthouses' just to show how much more elite she is to the other members of the Street. I think that Danny Baldwin will buy Liam Connor's share of the factory, as Rob James Collier is leaving. Would be good to see Carla and Danny living together at the same complex!!

I can't help but think this is a lazy excuse so they don't have to film off set to film for Carla Connor. Actually, I thought there may be something deeper to do with the Kelly comments. Dev and Amber? They are squashed above that shop from what I believe is a single-roomed flat? I thought Danny wasn't going to be returning now?

I'm glad they are extending the set, I bet someone we know is behind the building of the apartments.

'Big Fat Gypsy Weddings' returns: ReviewReality Bites's verdict on the return of Big Fat Gypsy Weddings.

I agree with Stuart, Aidan Critchley was a brilliant character and there is unfinished business with Ken Barlow... He would be a great one to move in the new flats it would shake the Street if Ade was to return.;
