Jason's arrested for David's attack

As Gail takes photos of David's injuries for the police, David suggests that it was Joe who attacked him. Gail, however, doesn't know what to think.

Having spent the night in his van, Joe eventually arrives home and is shocked by the state of David, before swearing that he had nothing to do with the attack.

Tina's horrified at David's injuries and asks him what time he was attacked and the nature of her questions prompts David to realise that Tina thinks Jason was responsible.

Tina confronts Jason but Jason's adamant that he never even saw David last night. It's clear, though, that Tina doesn't believe him. It's not long before the police turn up at No. 11 and arrest Jason on suspicion of assault.

Meanwhile, Rita tells Ramsay how Emily is going to miss him when he returns to Australia and urges him to stay in Weatherfield. Later, he announces to Emily and Rita that he's decided to stick around and is going to put an offer in on a flat in Victoria Court. Emily's delighted.

Later, Gail and Joe have a heart-to-heart following the incident with David. They admit that they still love each other and agree to give their relationship another go. But can it work after everything they've been through?

Elsewhere, Jesse tells Eileen that his mother has thrown him out and he'd like to accept her offer to move into No. 11. Eileen's pleased isn't so sure what to think when Jesse arrives complete with his parrot called John!
