Tony hands himself in to the police

As Tony stands on the canal towpath, he watches Roy fight for his life in the water. Will Tony's conscience catch up with him or is this the end for Roy? Tony eventually makes his choice, before walking away into the night a lonely, broken man.

Back at the café flat, Hayley tells a distraught Maria that they must call the police and report Roy's disappearance. A frantic Hayley and Becky head to the canal to search for Roy, while Maria tells an incredulous Michelle of her suspicions about Tony.

Realising that her own life could be in danger, Maria begins to panic that Tony could turn up at the house and hurt her and baby Liam. In the dark of night, though, Tony calmly walks into a police station and confesses to murder.

The police interview Tony and he admits that he hired Jimmy Dockerson to run over Liam out of jealousy, before going on to admit that he just tried to kill Roy at the canal.

Maria's shocked to hear that Tony's handed himself in and desperate for some answers, she heads to the station. When the police confirm her worst fears, Maria's horrified at the latest turn of events.

In the interview room, Tony pleads with her to believe that his feelings for her were genuine and that he's tried to make amends for his evil deeds. Will Maria be able to forgive him?
