Joe explains his masterplan to a stunned Gail

A hungover Peter apologises to Leanne for letting her down but she's angry, upset and not in a forgiving mood. Peter soon finds himself on the end of a tongue-lashing from Janice, who lets him know how he's let everyone down - especially Leanne.

Leanne's later concerned when she discovers that Peter's gone AWOL. With that, she heads out with Ken, Deirdre and George to check the local pubs but there's no sign of him.

George agrees to look after Simon while Leanne continues to search for Peter but unbeknown to the search party, Peter's let himself into the Turner's Joinery building and is helping himself to the leftover wine left from the hard hat party!

Meanwhile, Gail and Joe set off for the Lakes with the boat just as Rick turns up at No. 8 in search of Joe. David explains that Joe's gone away for a few days, before a worried Tina confides in David that Rick's a loan shark - and her father has huge debts.

In the Lake District, Gail and Joe are oblivious to what's happening back home. Instead, they prepare to set sail in the boat. Joe's in his element, while Gail's clearly terrified about being on the open water.

Gail's fear soon turns to incredulity, though, when Joe suggests that he fake his own death, disappear for seven years and allow her to cash in his life insurance policy…
