Joe's boating stunt takes a fatal turn
Gail tries to talk Joe out of his crazy idea of faking his own death but he's adamant that it's the only way out of his spiralling debts. Horrified by the madness of the situation, Gail attempts to stop him as he scrambles onto the boat in the dark of the night.

Gail pulls Joe back but a row soon ensues on the jetty. Joe falls and sprains his wrist but manages to break free from Gail, before setting off in the boat, leaving Gail sobbing on the bank.

Sitting in the cottage alone, a shaken and upset Gail tries to phone Joe but he doesn't answer. Has Joe gone ahead with his plan?

Back in Weatherfield, Tina's worried about her father and is deeply troubled by their last conversation. She tries his mobile over and over again but - like Gail - gets no response!

Meanwhile, Peter's on the road to self-destruction and turns up at George's house in a drunken state, demanding to see Simon. George is furious and sends him packing.

Returning to the Street, Peter calls in at The Rovers, where Michelle refuses to serve him. With that, Peter heads for the bookies where he insists that Ciaran join him for a few beers.

Elsewhere, a concerned Ken, Deirdre, George and Leanne regroup to discuss Peter's drink problem. Realising that Peter has a big problem, George offers to pay for rehab.
