Michelle meets with Alex's mother

Ryan is furious when he discovers everyone except him knew about Nick and storms out once again leaving Michelle in turmoil. Later when Alex’s mum, Wendy, walks into the Rovers, Michelle’s angry until Wendy reveals she had no idea Nick was trying to find Ryan, they’ve separated over it and she understands why Michelle’s so upset. She admits that she’s been burying her own head in the sand and never wanted to open this can of worms and makes it clear she doesn't want Alex to find out .

However, when Ryan doesn’t come home Michelle panics - he was such an emotional wreck when he left and he's not answering his phone. As the weight of the situation sinks in, Liam calls the police while terrified Michelle breaks down. Will Ryan turn up?

As Jack and Vera clear out the last of their belongings ready for the move to Blackpool, the reality that they are leaving sinks in. When Vera tells Molly and Tyrone that she's leaving them all her furniture, Tyrone's delighted while Molly's gutted as her hopes of a revamp are dashed. Vera questions whether they’re sure they’re making the right decision and Jack admits he’s going to miss the street but it’s changed a lot over the years. As they make plans to go to Blackpool tomorrow to measure up the new house, they announce to Molly, Tyrone and Paul that they're leaving the street in six weeks. What will Coronation Street be like without Jack and Vera?

Feeling threatened by Carla, Maria tries to persuade Liam not to go into work, telling him he needs to rest and she’ll bring him any paper work he needs. However, when Maria arrives back, she’s horrified to find Carla in her house. Liam tells her that Carla came to speak about Ryan and they’re going to work from home together and Carla’s smug as she succeeds in making Maria feel sidelined. Who will win the battle for Liam?
