Shelley meets Ciaran

Shelley’s day goes from bad to worse. First she has to break the news of Geena’s departure to Fred then Peter announces that he has invited an old Navy pal to stay over. In between cleaning the flat, trying to run the pub, solve the staff shortage and keep Fred sweet she reaches breaking point – how much longer can she cope? Just when all seems lost Betty steps into the breach – but will that satisfy Fred?

Peter meanwhile is more than a little distracted by the arrival of drinking pal Ciaran McCarthy (Keith Duffy) and Shelley realises that he isn’t going to be much support while the Irish charmer is around.

The mystery of the missing couch continues and Steve has some explaining to do when Karen arrives home from work furious – her name is mud at the shop after Eileen’s shabby old sofa turned up in place of Karen’s new one. She storms round to Eileen who is relaxing on the expensive designer sofa, and demands she return it immediately. But Eileen is staying put – she’ll give it back when Karen returns hers.

Meanwhile sofas are the topic of conversation at Sally and Kevin’s. Martin apologises and tells Kevin that he will keep the fact that Kevin is sleeping on the sofa bed in the lounge a secret. Slowly but surely it feels like things are finally coming together for the Webster’s and for the first time in ages Sally starts to relax and enjoy the arrangement.

An excited Maria collects her last wage packet and sells her worldly possessions to Kirk and Fiz, having made her peace with Toyah it is all systems go. Audrey meanwhile faces a double dilemma – she needs a new stylist and a new tenant. Get the Inside Soap magazine on your iPhone or iPad
