Coronation Street star Vicky Binns has admitted that she is expecting to receive a backlash over her new affair storyline.
The actress's alter-ego Molly Dobbs has already cheated on husband Tyrone by sharing a kiss with Kevin Webster (Michael Le Vell) in a recent episode of the ITV1 soap.
On Friday, the plot will heat up as the pair continue with their fling by romping at Molly's marital home.
Binns has now revealed that This Morning host Fern Britton is furious over Molly's behaviour - and she expects other viewers to feel the same way.
Speaking to the Sunday Mirror, she explained: "Alan Halsall, who plays Tyrone, met her and she said to him: 'I hate Molly for doing that to you'.
"Fern has got a lot of love for most people - she's a very accepting woman. But if even she hates me, I dread to think what other people will think. I'm getting a bit nervous now. I'll have to wear a hard hat when I go to Sainsbury's!"
Binns also speculated that viewers will not identify with her character's motivations - because they are blind to Tyrone's faults.
"I get stick already over Tyrone - even over the most trivial things," she revealed. "If I tell him off, even when he's blatantly in the wrong, the cameras cut to his big brown eyes and everyone goes: 'Aaaah, poor Tyrone'.
"So the sympathy will obviously be with him. But I'm also hoping some people identify with Molly and understand why, because it isn't just horrible people who have affairs. I absolutely believe anyone is capable of having an affair."
Binns has previously described the infidelity scripts as "fantastic" and "very exciting".
