Kat Kelly 'forced to wear Becky's outfits'

Coronation Street star Katherine Kelly has revealed that she was recently forced to wear her character's outrageous outfits in her own time.

The incident occurred when the actress flew out to Romania to film a new comedy spinoff featuring her alter ego Becky McDonald and Weatherfield couple Roy (David Nielson) and Hayley Cropper (Julie Hesmondhalgh), PA reports.

Speaking at the DVD's launch, Kelly explained: "My suitcase didn't arrive for two days and I phoned the producer and told him - he was panicking because he thought it was Becky's giant leopard-print suitcase with all her costumes in it. He didn't seem bothered when I explained it was actually my personal one!"

She continued: "It turned up after two days, thank God, because I was sick of wearing Becky's outfits constantly. I had to wear her bikinis as my underwear."

The special episode, titled Romanian Holiday, sees Becky stumbling across Roy and Hayley after storming off from her honeymoon. It will be released in time for Christmas.

The project follows last year's Out of Africa release, which focused on Cilla Battersby-Brown (Wendi Peters) and her children.
