The wedding that never happened is now back on as Coronation Street's Sarah and Jason walk down the aisle again – but will it be second time lucky for the pair?
At the end of the month, Weatherfield's Sarah Platt and Jason Grimshaw – Tina O'Brien and Ryan Thomas – attempt to tie the knot again, while, unbeknown to the church congregation, Sarah's brother, David (Jack P. Shepherd) is planning to kill himself.
Determined not to let anything ruin her special day, Sarah finds David's suicide note addressed to their mum, Gail (Helen Worth), and rips it up. With a contingency plan in mind, however, David phones his mum to tell her what he's about to do. But when her voicemail kicks in, David leaves what he intends to be his final message, signing off with "you're finally going to get what you always wanted".
As Sarah walks down the aisle, David drives over the edge of the canal bank into the water. When the police arrive on the scene, they soon make their way to the church where they inform Gail what's happened to her son.
Sarah, however, dismisses the news as one of David's jokes and gives a seemingly concerned Jason an ultimatum: "Jason, you know as well as I do… Do we let him win? Do we let him stop us? No, we've got to carry on..."
But what will Jason's reaction be? Is this another opportunity for him to exit stage left from the church?
Weatherfield's wedding of the year airs on Wednesday, October 31, when viewers will finally discover whether Sarah and Jason actually become man and wife during an hour-long special.
Here, Digital Spy takes an in-pictures look at the dramatic events as they unfold.
