Coronation Street star Michelle Keegan has revealed that she feels "proud" to have been cast as Weatherfield's new sex kitten.
The actress's character Tina McIntyre will quickly seduce twisted teen David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd) after arriving on the Street next week.
Keegan has insisted that she does not want to be compared to former cast-member Tina O'Brien, who recently left her role as Sarah Platt.
"I'm proud to be considered the new sex kitten of the Street," Michelle told the Daily Star. "But don't think I am trying to step into Tina's shoes. She was amazing."
Michelle, 20, worked at Manchester airport before landing her first TV role. Less than a year ago, she was thrilled when she met her new co-star Jack at the check-in desk.
"I was completely star-struck!" she revealed. "It's crazy to think that I am now the girl who takes David's virginity. How mad is that?"
