
By the time Gary arrives home, he's already prepared his alibi and tells Anna that he was drinking with Len all night. Anna begins to relax until she bumps into Joe who tells her and Eddie that, in no uncertain terms, he blames Gary for putting a defenceless elderly man in hospital.
Unbeknown to Gary, Ted recognised him and much to David's delight, has already pointed the police in his direction. David can hardly contain his excitement when the police turn up at the Windass's to arrest Gary, but Graeme's concerned that fiery Windass could drag them both down with him.
Meanwhile, Steve tries to persuade Betty to return to The Rovers, but the bickering behind the bar continues as Poppy continues to assert her authority as manageress.
