Meanwhile, with Anna preoccupied with the picket, Nisha and Zoe find themselves handling a difficult situation involving four old friends. Patient Carly has been involved in a car crash which has left her boyfriend, Johnny in a coma. Johnny’s sister, Hannah remains naively convinced her brother will regain consciousness and blames his friend, Gareth for the situation. An argument between the two men prior to the crash was the reason why Johnny was so upset, but could Carly’s feelings for Gareth have been the cause of the disagreement?
When Hannah comes to ask her advice, Nisha is unable to provide any. The experience of seeing Johnny in a coma has brought back her memories of the ordeal she suffered in Sheffield. In the aftermath of her attack by a patient she realises how much her family have gone through and how strong they are. Will this realisation provide her with the strength to help Hannah and her family?
Meanwhile as Nisha is coming to terms with her past, Rowan is forging forward. Pleased to have found a part time job she doesn’t seem to mind that it’s for Skelthwaite’s public enemy Number One – Robert Ashford. In fact, she feels sorry for him, being so castigated by the community he thinks he’s helping.
In contrast to Zoe’s upbeat newly-installed presence, Harding and Billy can’t help but feel life is passing them by - both redundant and low on morale. When Harding receives an offer from Ashford it may be more than he can refuse…
