One of the stalls is run by Brian Goodson, who owns a butcher’s shop with his father, Stan. For the Goodsons, the supermarket could mean the death of the family business. Keen to keep the shop afloat, Brian’s son, Nick, is happy to help out, but Brian continues to push Nick away insisting that he follows his dream of being a musician. Zoe worries Brian is working too hard and may not be as well as he was. Whether she can persuade Brain to admit his problems is another matter.
Meanwhile, Anna is still facing money problems with the factory. A generous offer to buy the land seems like a good thing, but not when the offer is from Robert Ashford. Greenwoods want to use the land to build the supermarket and the offer would clear Anna’s debts, but will she let her enemy be her saviour?
At Goddard’s, the sale of the machinery signals the end of the factory, so it’s an inconvenience when they receive a lorry load of pulp paper out of the blue. When Anna receives an order from the council they decide to turn the incident to their advantage and give the machines one last run. With only a few days before the auction the factory staff work through the night, but are rewarded when they are offered a permanent contract. Perhaps this isn’t the end of Goddard’s…
Elsewhere, while Megan is busy studying, Luke, Nathan and Danny are doing much of the wedding preparations. When Danny bemoans the lack of love in his life, the others point out Zoe as a potential partner. Danny starts to wonder whether they will work together – is she already more than a friend or is his mind playing tricks on him?
