What's happening with 'All Saints'?

Published Saturday, Feb 28 2009, 00:04 GMT | By Kris Green | 7 comments
I've had countless e-mails over the last number of months enquiring as to the whereabouts of All Saints.

Cast your minds back to 2007 when the BBC aired series five of the hospital drama. Following its 43-episode run, I confirmed that the public broadcaster had acquired the rights to series six and that it would more than likely air in early 2008.

However, here we are in February 2009 and there's still no sign of the next instalment.

So what's going on? Will it ever air?

Well, after getting in touch with the press BBC press office, I'm told that there's still no indication as to when the show will return. All they're confirming is that it will make a comeback.

However, a source told me: "It's looking hopeful that All Saints will return later this year, but nothing's been firmed up yet. As an educated guess, viewers will more than likely have to wait until the autumn."

We had some episodes of All Saints on BBC2 at 1pm for a few weeks at the end of 2009 now it's disappeared again. Are we ever going to get a regular series of has it gone for good?

I see All Saints is now back on BBC2 but no mention of it on the Digital Spy listing. Why not?

I've just realised and caught today's episode! Finally the BBC have given us our beloved All Saints back. Ah, Missy. It started on the 12th - that explains why i don't quite understand. I'll soon catch-up!

Aha, season six started airing on BBC Two from Monday 12th, set your recorders now!! Hopefully DS will have an article on this to notify other avid viewers, I only realised it was back on air by chance!

I emailed the BBC about this last year and got a response that it'd be shown in February 2008. TV guides and even my EPG showed that series 6 was due to start, but for some reason it got pulled at the last minute and Diagnosis Murder got shown again for the 900th time. It's a shame, they've hooked us in with series 5, but there's not a single inkling as to when series 6 will be shown. Disappointing.

The BBC should start showing All Saints Series 6. I really miss the show and the character DR Charlotte Beaumont she's the best thing about the show.

In Ireland (TV3) we are up to the same series as that broadcast in Australia, just a large number of episodes behind. Since Series 5 broadcast by the BBC the programme has changed quite a bit and it one of my favourite shows. Lots of drama and good quality character based storylines. Come on BBC, this is one of the higher quality imports from Australia, please schedule it!
