BBC 'looking at slots' for 'All Saints'

Published Monday, Jul 13 2009, 13:00 BST | By Kris Green | 10 comments
The BBC is reportedly looking at its autumn schedules in the hope of placing another series of the now-axed Australian medical drama All Saints, I can confirm.

Series five's 43-episode run aired in the UK from July 16 to September 13, 2007.

Shortly after the final episode transmitted, the BBC announced that it had acquired the right to series six and intended to broadcast it during the early part of 2008.

However after a year and a half, the BBC has yet to schedule the next run.

Following the news that Australia's Channel Seven has axed the long-running show after 11 seasons, the BBC says that it's looking at potential spaces in the daytime schedule in which to place season six.

A BBC spokesperson told me: "We're looking at slots across the autumn schedule in which to show the sixth series of All Saints, and won't make any decisions about acquiring the rights for the remaining series until series six has aired."
