'EastEnders: E20' - The Characters

Published Wednesday, Nov 25 2009, 00:02 GMT | By Kris Green | 4 comments
Since the four new actors heading up EastEnders' online spinoff soap E20 have today been announced, I thought that it'd be handy for you to read all about the characters in one place, rather than scattered around a news article.

Here they are together…

And without further ado, here are some nuggets of information about each of the foursome:

Name: Leon Small
Age: 17
Played by: Sam Attwater
Mini biog: Despite being a sexy and effortlessly cool guy, Leon has a short temper and a distinct lack of respect for those in authoritative positions. His mother died while he was younger and he has since taken care of his alcoholic father. A dedicated boxer, he prides himself on the fact that 'no-one touches the face' in the ring.

Name: Arthur 'Fatboy' Chubb
Age: 17
Played by: Ricky Norwood
Mini biog: Fatboy has concocted a plethora of personas throughout his childhood in an attempt to avoid his peers using his real name. He is also a hustler at heart and he will do anything to gain some cash - everything, in his eyes, is an opportunity.

Name: Mercy Olubunmi
Age: 17
Played by: Bunmi Mojekwu
Mini biog: Mercy's harbouring a huge secret from her grandmother, with whom she lives - or used to live with until she crashed into Albert Square! Throughout her childhood, she's always been a good girl, but when her parents returned to Nigeria and left her with her grandmother, she felt abandoned.

Name: Zsa Zsa Carter
Age: 16
Played by: Emer Kenny
Mini biog: Zsa Zsa's a good-looking, funky and out-spoken tomboy - very similar to her Aunt Shirley (Linda Henry). She's a bright, young girl who believes that she doesn't need help from anyone.

E20 producer Deborah Sathe said of the series: "Developing an online spinoff using Albert Square as a playground has been fantastic. It is so exciting to see these four young Londoners collide with the residents of Walford. The E20 site really celebrates these characters to the max and there will be lots of added extras!"

Three of the foursome - Leon, Fatboy and Zsa Zsa - will appear in the BBC One soap from January. E20 will also be available through the show's official website from the New Year.

Don't forget that there's still a chance to win a place in history by entering your remixed EastEnders theme into the E20 competition. Click here to read all about it.
