How did you become involved in the new series of E20?
"We were contacted by the show's producer, Deborah Sathe, who is a good friend of mine - we worked together a few years ago on other projects."
Are you and the rest of the troupe big fans of EastEnders, and was it exciting to play a part in the show?
"We are definitely fans of EastEnders, and it was very exciting to be involved in playing a role as Flawless. I remember all of us sitting in the Square saying, 'Oh my goodness, we are actually here!' Everyone was so friendly and we took loads of pictures."
What do you think the dance element brings to the new series of E20?
"I think because dance is the new craze, it really works and brings a new feel to the storyline, as you have two brothers - Asher and Sol - who are very strong characters. Watching EastEnders, you wouldn't normally see dance used within the show, and for that reason, with such a high-profile programme and large viewing figures, it's exciting because EastEnders: E20 is raising awareness of dance. The show has loads of surprises and dance is one of them."
Heshima, who plays Asher, has a particular interest in dance - did you enjoy working with him and the rest of the cast?
"Yes we all did, Heshima is an amazing individual and very good to work with - definitely one to look out for."
Avant Garde, another dance troupe, are also appearing in the series. Was it good to work alongside them on the show?
"Avant Garde and Flawless are part of the same world, and it’s always good to work with people with passion!"
This isn't the first time that Flawless have taken on an acting project as you also appeared in the film StreetDance 3D. How did working on E20 compare?
"It was a different experience this time around, because we were more ourselves for E20, and for StreetDance 3D we played a dance troupe called The Surge. But in both cases, it was an amazing experience and we'd love to continue doing more film and television."
Do you think that projects like E20 and StreetDance 3D are a good way to inspire others to take up dancing, and is that something that Flawless aspire to do?
"They definitely are, and it's what Flawless is all about - not only for dance, but most importantly to encourage people to chase their dreams whatever they may be."
What's next for Flawless?
"Well, we just got back from the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, which was amazing - we sold out all 31 shows. The show is called 'Chase the Dream', which is touring the UK from September to December this year, and loads more other exciting things will be happening. So for more information stay tuned to our website, it's called 'Official Flawless'."
