Christy makes a move on Val

Val is disappointed that Christy has made moves to replace her so swiftly at Phelan's. However, Val is moved when, instead of a reference from Christy, she gets a note in a sealed envelope which simply says: "Don't go."

Later, Val is unsure whether to pursue her plan to seek alternative employment. At the same time, Ray steers Christy towards being more proactive in expressing his feelings towards Val. In the end, Christy finally makes a move on her.

Meanwhile, Carol is impressed with Louie because he is paying her more respect and making an effort to give her some free time from parenting and bar work. Later, Louie gets Bob to cover at McCoy's, but is both irked and prompted by Bob's hints that he should set a date to marry Carol. Initially, Carol seems down on the idea of setting a date, which worries Louie.

Elsewhere, Neasa discovers work-shy Finn in a compromising position, Shannon starts misleading Leo about how much time she is spending on the guitar, while Yvonne tries to stop Bela from making plans to sell his house to cover Rita's nursing home expenses.
