'Enders water scenes, E'dale's lesbian kiss
Published Sunday, Dec 28 2008, 00:02 GMT | By Kris Green | 4 comments
With Christmas having been and gone, we move on to the action-packed New Year in soapland and I have some more unseen pictures for you to feast your eyes on - I do spoil you all.
First up, we have the moment where Roxy Mitchell (Rita Simons) finds herself trapped beneath the ice of a frozen lake and her sister Ronnie (Samantha Janus) desperately tries to save her. A crazed Sean Slater (Rob Kazinksy) and Roxy find themselves stranded in the middle of a frozen lake and plummet into the dark depths of the water below.
When Ronnie and Jack (Scott Maslen) finally track them down, they look on as the ice gives way beneath Roxy and Sean's feet. Without thinking, Ronnie jumps into the water in an attempt to save her sister. Who'll make it out alive? It all kicks off on New Year's Day on BBC One.

These scenes air on Thursday, January 1 at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on BBC One.
Meanwhile, it's all hotting up in the Dales...
Jasmine's (Jenna-Louise Coleman) stunned when she hears that Ross (Samuel Anderson) has been charged for Shane's (Paul McEwan) murder, Jasmine shocks Debbie (Charley Webb) when she reveals that she's going to turn herself in to the cops. Debbie tries to convince her best friend that confessing is the worst thing she could do.
Realising she's dead set on handing herself in, Debbie packs her a bag and drives her to the police station, hoping to call her bluff. As they sit outside, Jasmine comes to her senses at the last minute and while thanking Debbie for her friendship, the pair share a passionate kiss. Is this the start of a lesbian love affair in the Dales? Or are they simply leaning to each other for support during this tough time?

These scenes air on Wednesday, January 7 at 7pm on ITV1.
And finally, Jackie Dobbs (Margi Clarke) manages to spoil Molly's (Vicky Binns) hen do when she arrives at Dev's flat expecting to join in the antics. Molly relents and lets her stay, but she soon regrets her decision when she persuades Graeme (Craig Gazey) to strip for them. During his Full Monty routine, everything falls to pieces when Graeme manages to smash a vase and Auntie Pam (Kate Anthony) restrains Jackie and throws her out.
Hopefully Molly's wedding day will go ahead without a hitch? As if.

These scenes air on Friday, January 9 at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV1.

Yes cos they just write storylines and film just days before transmission. No planning for months and months beforehand...

I knew all people would say 'They're copying Emmerdale!' And have Emmerdale never copied. I think it's going to be a great stunt and a great exit for Sean. New Year in Walford is always just as explosive or sometimes even more so than Christmas Day!! I can't wait :)

So now EastEnders are copying Emmerdale and planning to show a scene with someone falling into a icy lake and being rescued. I don't expect Sean will make it out alive though.

It's been known for a while now that EE were doing this storyline with the frozen lake, so that argument about them copying Emmerdale is somewhat redundant in my eyes...Anyway, I'm looking forward to EE at New Years, I just hope Sean doesn't die (although he probably will)- I've really grown to like him recently and think Rob K's acting has improved a lot. I couldn't care less about Roxy to be honest. That woman does my head in.
