Jack and Janine, Darren's mugging and Eli's arrest

Let's kick off with a couple of exclusive images from EastEnders this week, marking the start of a great little storyline between Janine (Charlie Brooks), Jack (Scott Maslen) and Ronnie (Samantha Janus).

The plot, which kicks off in a couple of weeks, sees Janine going to Jack for the job as bar manager at R&R and Ronnie can't even believe that he's considering such a 'rude, condescending and obnoxious' woman as Janine for the post. A couple of tantrums later, Ronnie finally pulls herself together slightly and inspects Janine's CV. Not entirely convinced by her credentials, Ronnie suggests that her work history and references are probably a pack of lies.

Not one to disappoint, Janine accurately and flirtatiously describes one of the bar managers, who also happens to be and old acquaintance of Jack. Ronnie's fuming by Janine's attitude, while Jack laps up the attention. Seeing Janine's 'potential', Jack offers her a trial run. But is it just the job she wants?

These scenes air on Thursday, January 22 at 7.30pm on BBC One.

Meanwhile, over in Hollyoaks, Darren's (Ashley Taylor Dawson) released from prison in a fortnight's time and hopes to pick up from where he left off in the village. Worried that he's lost his mojo, Cindy (Stephanie Waring) takes it upon herself to help him find it again. It's not long before the old Darren Osborne's back, vowing to get The Dog back for his family.

Cindy eventually persuades Rhys (Andrew Moss) to give Darren a trial run as a barman and during his first shift, Darren gets more than he bargained for when he learns that Cindy and Rhys has a fling while he was behind bars. Attempting to wind Darren up, Rhys locks him in the back room of The Dog and Cindy finds him just in time to make sure he gets home before his curfew. Before he leaves the watering hole, though, he and Rhys come to blows.

With the pressure mounting, Darren decides to pay Warren (Jamie Lomas) a visit and ask for a loan, but when he refuses, Darren threatens to reveal all about Sean's murder. Wondering how far he's pushed Warren, Darren slips out and heads home. On his way back, though, he's mugged of the MOBS takings, which Steph (Carley Stenson) entrusted him with. Who's out to get Darren?

Into Yorkshire now, where a certain few residents of Emmerdale are slowly to realise just how much trouble they could be in if their hand in Shane's (Paul McEwan) murder is discovered. Donna (Verity Rushworth) realises that the feed bags that she unearthed at the Dingles' were discontinued over 10 years ago. Convinced that Eli (Joseph Gilgun) killed her now-dead colleague, the takes a feed bag and has the Dingles' van impounded and Eli hauled in for questioning. Will Eli come clean to the police? He is a Dingle...

These scenes air on Tuesday, January 20 at 7pm on ITV1.

And finally, the day of John Stape's (Graeme Hawley) trial has arrived and Fiz, against Kirk (Andrew Whyment) and Julie's (Katie Cavanagh) warnings, decides she wants to attend court. When John sees Fiz sat in the public gallery, he delivers a heart-felt plea to the judge that he completely regrets holding Rosie (Helen Flanagan) against her will. How much a custodial sentence will the judge hand down?

These scenes air on Monday, January 19 at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV1.

Janine and Jack that's disgusting! If only Jack would listen to Ronnie.

All male residents in the Square should stay well clear of Janine. She'll marry them for their money and then I shouldn't be surprised if they all drop dead of a heart attack. And will John and Eli be sent to prison for their wrong doings?.

Janine and Jack. Oh dear. Like Darren vowing to get the dog back, hope he does, I hate Rhys.
