Jane and Masood, Lydia's lamped and Leanne leaves
Published Sunday, Mar 1 2009, 00:02 GMT | By Kris Green | 4 comments
We'll start with an intriguing picture from EastEnders this week and I have to admit that while reading the batch of storylines containing this snippet, I smiled at the below.
In a fortnight's time, Jane (Laurie Brett) and Masood (Nitin Ganatra) decide to take a break from their respective partners and share a plate of chips in the café. As they descend into talk about their fears and dreams, they're getting on like a house on fire. Before they know it, they're holding each other's gaze.
With a number of other similar 'moments' during the same week - and beyond - could Masood end up being Jane's next Grant? Though having said that, the thought of Masood and Jane copulating in the Masala Queen unit is enough to put anyone off their curry.
Don't get me wrong, I love Laurie Brett and Nitin Ganatra, but here's to hoping that the characters have simply found common ground - in that they both have cantankerous spouses.

These scenes air on Monday, March 9 at 8pm on BBC One.
Meanwhile, Amy's (Ashley Slanina-Davies) on the warpath in a few weeks' time when she catches Josh (Sonny Flood) in a clinch with Lydia (Lydia Kelly). All's not what it seems, though, and before anyone knows what's going on, Amy's jealousy hits an all-time high. With her rational thoughts and calm composure well and truly out of the window, she's convinced that Josh is playing away.
Despite Sasha (Nathalie Emmanuel) trying to calm the hormonal expectant mother down, Amy breaks free and lamps Lydia, much to the shock of Sarah (Loui Batley) and Josh.
As an aside, Lydia's lesbian storyline with Sarah looks like it's one for the back burner from what I've seen. Don't expect much more than a flicker until late April, beginning of May...

These scenes air on Wednesday, March 11 at 6.30pm on Channel 4.
Over to Coronation Street now, where new mum Jane Danson's final scenes as Leanne - until she returns from maternity leave - are to air during the second week of March.
Fed up with Peter (Chris Gascoyne) taking her for granted, Leanne confides in Janice (Vicki Entwhistle) that she's going to take a restaurant manager's job in Leeds. Before she leaves, however, she's infuriated by Peter's attempts to prevent her from going when he gets son Simon (Alexander Bain) to beg her to stay. Determined to get away, Leanne bids a tearful farewell to the man who she thought loved her.
Congratulations, meanwhile, must be extended to Jane and her husband Robert Beck - Corrie's Jimmy Dockerson - on their new baby boy, Sam Alfie Robert.

These scenes air on Monday, March 9 at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV1.
And finally for this week, we're with Emmerdale, where Aaron (Danny Miller) takes his friendship with Victoria (Isabel Hodgins) to the next level when he kisses her out of the blue. With Andy (Kelvin Fletcher) and Daz (Luke Tittensor) both disapproving of Victoria's interest in Aaron, will she listen to their concerns? Or press on with her relationship regardless?

These scenes air on Wednesday, March 11 at 7pm on ITV1.

Hang on a minute, I thought Emmerdale were going down the route of Daz getting with Victoria, anyway, nice 2 see Victoria happy 4 a change, I can see Aaron being protective aswell, although he doesnt act it 2 others, he does 2 the people he cares about.

Although not really the sort of boy I would like my daughter to bring home - these two might actually be good for each other. It would be nice to see Victoria has something nice to hold on for a change. Even Aaron could surprise every one with protective insticts over Victoria - a glimps came out over his mum - give them both a decent chance and not some knock-up like Andy and Debbie

What's going on between Jane and Masood? And if Victoria starts a relationship with Aaron I shouldn't be surprised if she ends up a gymslip mum before long.
