Rita's shock, Maisie's dunked and an angry Phil
Published Sunday, Apr 19 2009, 00:02 BST | By Kris Green | 3 comments
Coronation Street's Colin Grimshaw (Edward de Souza) is about to turn 70 and unbeknown to him, companion Rita (Barbara Knox) and daughter Eileen (Sue Cleaver) are organising a big birthday bash at the Rovers. Colin, however, has other things on his mind.
Arriving at the local watering hole, he's taken aback by the effort Rita and Eileen have gone to. With the party in full swing, Colin makes a surprise proposal to Rita when he pulls out a ring and asks for her hand in marriage.
The happiness is short-lived, though, when Julie's (Katy Cavanagh) mum Paula (Sharon Duce) turns up and reveals a shocking family secret...

These scenes air on Monday, April 27 at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV1.
Meanwhile, in the tranquil Yorkshire Dales, all hell breaks loose in the village in a fortnight's time when Debbie (Charley Webb) and Maisie (Alice Coulthard) come to blows.
With Natasha (Amanda Donohoe) having offered Debbie financial help in her custody battle for Sarah (Sophia Amber Moore), Andy's (Kelvin Fletcher) furious to have received a letter from the Wyldes' solicitor. When Andy and Maisie confront her in the village, Debbie sees red, grabs Maisie and dunks her head in a water trough.
Just what would Cain (Jeff Hordley) say if he were around? Well when Debbie returns home, she's shocked to be able to ask him herself...
Check back on Tuesday for my interview with Jeff Hordley!

These scenes air on Tuesday, April 28 at 7pm on ITV1.
There are some great Phil (Steve McFadden) scenes in EastEnders in a couple of weeks - he even tries to seduce (to use the term extremely loosely) barmaid of few words Tracy (Jane Slaughter)!
With Phil passed out on the sofa, Ben (Charlie Jones) is forced to call Heather (Cheryl Fergison) for help when he can't contact Shirley (Linda Henry). However, when Phil comes to from his alcohol-induced slumber, he verbally attacks Heather for interfering in his life. That and I'm sure he's probably slightly peeved that she locked him in the Arches overnight earlier in the week.
A vicious Phil throws Heather out of the pub and as she runs home, she suffers an asthma attack...
With Phil on self-destruct mode, just how much longer can go on?
Earlier this week, I caught up with 'Enders exec Diederick Santer for DS's first interview of Producer Season 2009. Check back at the end of the month to see exactly what he had to say.

These scenes air on Tuesday, April 28 at 7.30pm on BBC One.
And finally to Hollyoaks, where Lydia (Lydia Kelly) proves to Sarah (Loui Batley) exactly how she feels.
The pair previously locked lips at the beginning of the month but now Lydia's hoping to take their romance to the next level. After a heart-to-heart with Sarah and having sought reassurance from her that she's genuine, they passionately kiss.
At that exact moment, Michaela (Hollie Jay-Bowes) spots them. Will she be able to keep such a huge morsel of gossip a secret?

These scenes air on Tuesday, April 28 at 6.30pm on Channel 4.

The Emmerdale Maisie being dunked just seems to be a copy of when Chas dunked Chloe

Why do weddings/parties have to be spoiled by someone revealing a big secret? We have to tolerate enough of it in EastEnders without Corrie using the same idea. And though I don't care much for Debbie I'm glad to know that she's going to sort that stuck up cow Maisie out.
