A familiar face returns to our screens in EastEnders at the end of the month when Libby Fox (Belinda Owusu) goes to visit her estranged father Owen Turner (Lee Ross) in prison.

He was sent there in 2006 for attempting to murder his own daughter by drowning her in a stream and having nearly served his sentence, Owen has asked his mother Liz (Kate Williams) to stop by Albert Square to see Libby on her birthday.

Libby's stunned to see her gran and she soon realises that she's there in an attempt to persuade her to see Owen. At first, Libby's dead against the idea but soon relents. Without her family knowing, Libby heads to the prison where a remorseful Owen is made up to see her.

Owen quickly acknowledges that he's made mistakes in the past and doesn't expect forgiveness. He apologises for his actions, before revealing that he's being released in a few months' time...

Is Owen a reformed man?

Over in Emmerdale, Val (Charlie Hardwick) goes to extreme lengths in a bid to prove to her sister Diane (Elizabeth Estensen) that Rodney's (Patrick Mower) a bad egg.

Her carefully-laid plan comprises two steps. One, seducing Rodney in the hope that he'll kiss her and two, tell Diane what a player he is. Rodney's taken aback when Val seductively insists that she's still in love with him but tells her to control herself.

She goes on to reel off a sob story to Rodney about how her relationship with Eric (Chris Chittell) is ailing and asks for his help to satisfy her needs. Giving into temptation, Rodney kisses her, prompting her to wipe her lips in disgust and accuse him of not caring about her sister Diane.

Rodney's furious and when Rodney insists that he and Diane will only ever be friends, Val's forced to defend her actions. Not realising the mess she's potentially made, Rodney threatens to tell the village about her wily ways, before kicking her out of the house.

What will Eric and Diane say?

Last week, I caught up with the lovely Charlie Hardwick to chat about this storyline. Check back on Tuesday to read the full interview.
