Shock Walford, 'Oaks kisses and two proposals!

By
OK, so who saw this one coming?

EastEnders' Jane (Laurie Brett) and Masood (Nitin Ganatra) finally kiss in a fortnight's time during a heart-to-heart in the café.

I personally didn't think that they'd ever give in to their feelings for each other. I always thought that it'd be something that viewers would be willing to happen but never did. However, they share another moment with each other as a frustrated Jane confides in Masood about her marital problems.

Having received an application to adopt, Jane's flustered when Masood spots the envelope. Realising that Masood now knows about her predicament, the pair head out to the café for a coffee. While there, Jane admits that she feels like her hopes and aspirations will never come to fruition as Ian's not interested in the slightest.

Later, Ian tells Jane that if she wants kids, she should find another man to make it happen, insisting that he has enough parental responsibility. Turning to Masood for a shoulder to cry on, there's a charged moment between them and Jane ends up going in for a kiss...

These scenes air on Thursday, November 5 at 8pm on BBC One.

To Coronation Street now, where Joe (Reece Dinsdale) - despite his bad back - gets down on bended knee and proposes to Gail (Helen Worth).

Surprising Gail with a romantic meal, Joe invites her to climb aboard his boat (and no, that's not a metaphor) which he's aptly named 'Gail Force'. The light mood changes, though, when Joe pops the question to a stunned Gail.

How will she react?

These scenes air on Friday, November 6 at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV1.

Meanwhile, there's another potential engagement during the same week over in Emmerdale when David (Matthew Wolfenden) assumes the proposal position and asks Leyla (Rokhsaneh Ghawam-Shahidi) to be his wife.

Concerned about his relationship, David turns to his father Pollard (Chris Chittell) for advice and he suggests that injecting some romance into proceedings will stand him in good stead with Leyla.

Later, David interrupts Leyla's conversation with Gennie (Sian Reese-Williams) and suggests that they head out to The Woolpack. There, David's chatting to Diane (Elizabeth Estensen) but Leyla's only concern is Nathan's (Lyndon Ogbourne) arrival.

Completely unaware of what's going on, Diane walks across to their table with a bottle of champagne, before David drops to one knee and asks for her hand in marriage.

Will Leyla agree to become Mrs Metcalfe? Or will she break his heart by turning him down and revealing the truth?

These scenes air on Tuesday, November 3 at 7pm on ITV1.

Last but not least to Hollyoaks where a week Monday, the Ashworths' godson Duncan (Dean Aspen) turns up in the village and immediately causes havoc at The Dog with Ricky (Ashley Margolis).

Josh (Sonny Flood) and David (Elliot James Langridge) dress up as women on the Tuesday in a bid to take the limelight off India (Beth Kingston).

And finally, Mercedes (Jennifer Metcalfe) and Calvin (Ricky Whittle) share a smooch on the Wednesday after Malachy (Glen Wallace) snaps at his wife for metaphorically trying to suffocate him as they're together almost 24/7.

It doesn't take long for Mercedes's attention to wander, though, as she's soon playing tonsil tennis with Calvin...

These scenes air on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, November 2, 3 and 4 at 6.30pm on Channel 4.
