Neil Wilkes loaded my scoops this afternoon with EastEnders news from the Edinburgh TV Festival.
According to Peter Fincham, Controller of BBC1, there are "no plans at the moment" for the Walford soap to air five nightly.
He said: "There is no secret schedule for 2007 that has a fifth episode in."
And talking of the current state of the BBC soap, he added: "EastEnders is in good shape. Editorially it's very strong."
