It's been an exciting couple of weeks over here at DSHQ.

Firstly - and it's been a long time coming - we finally have Hollyoaks content on the site! So, over the coming weeks and months, you should start to see more of the Scouse soap on DS.

Meanwhile, it was a sad day last week when the decision was made to axe Caption Corner after 53 issues. The feeling was that although it had what could be described as a 'cult following' by some readers, the format had run its course. Instead, I'm hoping to concentrate my time on more soapy features for you to feast on. Watch this space. I will, however, be posting the top three entries of the last Corner - and winner of the signed Julie Goodyear book - in the coming days.

On that note, week 20 in the television calendar is jam-packed with HUGE soaps storylines. EastEnders' and its £1m stunt, Coronation Street's fire, Emmerdale's long-awaited reveal episode (with a cameo from none other than Katherine Jenkins! /sarcasm), Hollyoaks' JP and Craig finally get it together and Louisa Lytton's debut as PC Beth Green in The Bill. Don't miss these all-important episodes. Keep an eye on the soaps section over the next few days for more on an unmissable week in soapland.

Oh, before I forget, EastEnders are following in the footsteps of Corrie by lining up a double-hander episode featuring only Max and Stacey. The episode, which airs on Friday, May 25, sees Stacey issue Max with an ultimatum - her or Tanya. Who will he choose?

And it's not long 'til the BAFTAs and Soap Awards either. I'm salivating at the thought of it. Do check the competition section tomorrow, too, for a chance to win an all-expenses paid, VIP trip to this year's BAFTA ceremony.

Great to see Hollyoaks starting to get some recognition, its been consistently the best soap for the last 6 months, and it deserves to do well at this years Soap Awards.
