All the scoop from the BAFTAs!

The event was, in a word, amazing. Both myself and my inestimable editor, Neil, donned our tux and made our way down the red carpet to the London Palladium where this year's BAFTA ceremony took place.
There were definitely a few shocks along the way: the most prevalent being the winner of the 'Best Continuing Drama' gong. Who would have ever dreamt that Casualty would have been standing on the stage collecting the award? And there was me thinking Corrie or EastEnders had it in the bag.
The ceremony ended at about 9pm, whereupon we headed to the Natural History Museum for the after-show party. And here's where all the scoop came flooding!
I bumped into Emma Barton and Perry Fenwick (pictured with me) - Walford's Honey and Billy Mitchell - on my way in, and they weren't giving anything away about their baby plotline, but my craving for EastEnders gossip was finally fulfilled when I got chatting to Executive Producer Diederick Santer. He teased about what's to come over the next few months, summing up his rundown with: "There's loads to come - it's going to be an explosive summer..."
There are big things to come from the culmination of the Rob-May-Dawn love triangle, Stacey-Bradley-Max love triangle, Bert's grandson Jay, who - and this is a Soap Scoop exclusive - has a FATHER on his way to the Square! And, of course, the already-anticipated arrival of Ronnie and Roxy Mitchell.
Stick with DS later this week for more news on Jay's father!
So, what about Coronation Street, then?

"Maybe there's another Mrs Fanshaw on the way..." he suggested. For those of you who can't remember, Mrs Fanshaw tried to seduce Jason on a building job and was played by the Street's lovely Alison King in her pre-Carla days.
Meanwhile, Samia Smith loaded my scoops with more fodder as she teased about a possible new love interest on the horizon for Maria. "There may be someone new on the scene pretty soon... somebody who hasn't been around for long, either!" You do the maths...
And Vicky Entwhistle - the Cobbles' Janice Batterby - revealed that her love interest and plumber Roger Stiles (Andrew Dunn) is back filming in Manchester - and he's returned to "fix Janice's pipes". Ooh, I say... it was at that moment that I made my excuses and left!
As I said, an entertaining and all-around informative evening.
