Here are a few pictures of what's to come in EastEnders and Coronation Street in the run up to Christmas.
Tanya Branning's Albert Square life is about to get just that little bit more noisy as she gives birth to a baby boy on Friday, December 14. She and Max decide to call him Oscar. Can I get an 'Aww'.
Meanwhile, Billy takes the saying 'charity begins at home' to a new level when he steals Peggy's charity collection in the hope of giving Honey, Janet and baby William an Xmas to remember. Will he get caught? Come on, it's Walford and it's Christmas. Of course he will!
Earlier this week, I was lucky enough to have a sneak peek at what's to come over the festive period. Let's just say that the Christmas Day reveal is brilliant. There are some fantastic close-ups which just capture that moment when Slaters and Brannings finally learn of Max and Stacey's deceit. And by 'eck do fists fly!
Kevin's death scenes came as a bit of a surprise, too. I'll not reveal how he dies just yet but it's a safe bet that his sticky end involves a motor...
Other gossip from my alcohol-fuelled night? Rob Kazinsky has just adopted a polar bear; he also used to work with the RSPCA; Jo Joyner never read any of Jake Wood's lines during the 'Stax' storyline so as to ensure her confusion was real; Cheryl Fergison is legend in real life as well as on-screen; Gemma Bissix filmed her first scenes earlier this week complete with short hair and a skimpy silver dress - she'll be on-screen in February; while Ricky and Bianca are due to arrive on-screen in March - Bianca's turned into her mother, Carol, and Ricky has quietened down somewhat. I can't wait! Roll on March.

Here's a piccy of Corrie's Liam Connor confronting his nephew Ryan's stalker, Nick.
In other Corrie news, apparently David gets a new love interest in the form of one of Mel Morton's mates. I'm not entirely sure at the moment but I think we've seen her on-screen before when the Mortons moved onto the Street. Don't quote me on that, though.
Finally, if I read that one more actor would love a role on Corrie I'll go mad. We'd all love a cameo role in Weatherfield!

It's hardly surprising that there's going to be a mixture of tragedy and marriage/relationship breakups in the soaps this festive season as it's always what we have to put up with this time of year. It seems that the only bit of festive cheer this year will be the birth of Max and Tanya's baby boy in EastEnders. Soap producers should stop bringing such doom and gloom into the soaps during the festive season and realise that Christmas is a time when we like to enjoy ourselves.
