Only a couple of days to go until those all-important episodes of your favourite soaps.

I finally managed to catch up with some long-overdue DVDs last night and, after watching Corrie's Christmas, I have to say that it was for the most part very good. The fight scene between Kevin and John was superb, while the exchange between Rosie and Sally toward the end of the episode where Sally slaps her daughter was commendable, too.

However, after the fourth and final part of the hour-long edition, I really did feel that there was another quarter missing. You'll see what I mean on Tuesday. If anything, they could have cut the camera to each family in turn to see the aftermath of December 25th and then show what actually is the final scene with Roy on the phone to Hayley. All-in-all, though, a great effort.

I have a feeling that Ryan's present to his mum could be the centrepiece of a few scenes in the coming weeks, too...

Over with EastEnders, here are the first pictures of Tanya and Sean kissing following the revelation of Max's infidelity with his daughter-in-law, Stacey. This is the moment Sean's been anticipating for a long time. Whether the pair pursue their moment of passion remains to be seen. Let's just say that there's a long, bumpy road ahead for Max and Tanya, so who knows what Tanya will decide to do. Maybe her sister, Rainie will put things into perspective when she returns in the New Year.

Check back on DS tomorrow for the final couple of pictures from the Christmas Day episodes.

My DVD 'to-watch' pile was also reduced by a couple more discs last night after viewing the first two episodes of ITV's new soap concept, Moving Wallpaper and Echo Beach.

I loved it, despite the fact I didn't know what I was expecting. I think the subtle crossover references were what did it for me - there's an air of satisfaction when you spot them. For example, fictitious soap producer Jonathan Pope throws a large stuffed panda in the bin during Moving Wallpaper and it subsequently appears in the back of a van in Echo Beach.

Both shows premiere on Thursday, January 10 on ITV1 from 9pm.
