About John Barnes
Best known for his on-field exploits as a footballer in the 1980s and 90s, Barnes appeared 752 times for four clubs and scored a total of 562 goals.

Barnes left Liverpool in 1997 for Newcastle United and then Charlton Athletic; he moved to Celtic to become head coach in 1999. Having now retired, he frequently appears as a guest on football programmes.
