James Blunt has been named as the last minute replacement for the Spice Girls on Strictly Come Dancing.

The reformed pop group have had to cancel their appearance on the show because Emma Bunton sprained her ankle while performing in Las Vegas on Tuesday.

However, Bunton has promised that it won't stop the girl group's comeback show at the 02 Arena on Saturday night from going ahead.

Talking at London's Heathrow airport, she said: "I actually slipped over the other night on stage, which was embarrassing.

"I'm seeing David Beckham's doctor so I'm praying I'll be fine of course for Saturday."

Bunton reached the semi-finals on Strictly Come Dancing in 2006.
