Garraway wins damages over Du Beke claims

Kate Garraway has accepted "substantial" libel damages from two Mirror titles following false allegations about her relationship with Anton Du Beke.

The Daily Mirror and Sunday Mirror had claimed that the GMTV presenter was cheating on her husband with Du Beke, her partner on last year's Strictly Come Dancing.

Garraway took legal action in the High Court against publisher MGN in February, saying that she had been "extremely hurt" by the stories.

The newspaper group also agreed to pay legal costs and apologised for the allegations, which it accepted were untrue and promised not to repeat.

The 39-year-old has daughter Darcey, 2, with psychotherapist husband Derek Draper.
