'Strictly' Rachel denies injury claims

Strictly Come Dancing star Rachel Stevens has denied claims that she is battling a back injury after falling in training.

Earlier reports had suggested that the 30-year-old was having to undergo emergency surgery in a bid to regain her form before this weekend's live final.

However, a spokesperson for the former S Club singer has described these claims as "simply untrue".

"She is not having any emergency treatment apart from taking pain-killers," the representative told DS. "All the dancers are suffering from aches and pains but it's nothing out of the ordinary."

Stevens and partner Vincent Simone are currently 6/4 favourites to take the title over Holby City actor Tom Chambers and presenter Lisa Snowdon.

Saturday night's show has been at the centre of a voting controversy after a tied judges' score meant all three acts proceeded to the final.
