Stevens conquered fears on 'Strictly'

Rachel Stevens has credited Strictly Come Dancing for helping her to deal with nerves.

The former S Club singer confirmed that she struggled with stage fright for years before finally conquering her fears on the BBC One ballroom competition.

"I wouldn't say I'm confident now, but I've conquered my nerves. Every Saturday night I've gone out there and really enjoyed it," Stevens told Bang Showbiz.

"It's unbelievable - I've gone out and done massive shows, arena tours, but I always got nervous whenever we did it. I think that's a good thing, but you're on live TV, millions of people, you're putting yourself out there. It's really scary."

Stevens reached the Strictly final last month but eventually lost out to Holby City actor Tom Chambers in the public vote.
