Waite, Johnson will 'come back fighting'

BBC

Ian Waite and Jade Johnson have promised to "come back fighting" on Strictly Come Dancing.

The duo, who ended up in the dance-off last Saturday, said that the experience had made them "less complacent" and "more relaxed".

"Things from here on can only be positive. It can be a kick on to motivate us to do better next week," Waite told It Takes Two. "We'll come back fighting.

"It's obvious that the competition is closer now. If you're bottom of the leaderboard and a few couples have drawn, you are not that far away. Whereas before you could be 12 points away, the new voting system means no one is safe. It means everyone at home must vote, because every vote counts."

Olympic athlete Johnson added: "I'm a lot more relaxed [this week]. Once you have been in the dance-off and survived, for me it was a good experience. It made me less complacent.

"I'm definitely a lot more calm. We've been there, done it, and hopefully won't have to do it again."

Waite and Johnson will perform a foxtrot on this Saturday's show, which airs at 6.50pm on BBC One.
