In March 2011, Asus pioneered a new trend on tablet computing with the creation of the Transformer Pads. The transformer design allows for the option of a docking keyboard to be attached, so that the device can be used in a more traditional computing format if desired. The transformer line advanced more recently in March 2012 with the announcement of the Asus Eee Pad Transformer Infinity (pictured), with an upgraded screen resolution of 1920x1200 pixels among other new features.
