ITV News moves multiplex
Published Tuesday, Jan 14 2003, 13:55 GMT | By James Welsh
The ITV News Channel has moved today to multiplex 2, the "Digital 3 & 4" multiplex - and digital terrestrial viewers posting to the Digital Spy forums report a drop in sound quality.
The channel previously transmitted on multiplex A, SDN. As of the time of publication, ITV News was still being carried on this multiplex.
If your DTT receiver has not automatically updated your channel lineup, perform a manual channel rescan to continue receiving the ITV News Channel after its multiplex A transmission ceases. 'Deputy Dog' from the forum notes that viewers using the Goodmans GDB2 box who are currently having problems recieving the channel should indeed perform this rescan.
The move will allow the ITV News Channel to transmit regional news on the digital terrestrial platform instead of carrying regional news for London nationally.
Check in with Digital Spy through the day on the web, on your PDA and through your WAP phone for more as it happens.
