Bid-up.tv, the auction channel from Sit-Up TV (38% of which is owned by the Telewest content division, Flextech), has launched today on Freeview.
The channel is available on channel 23, transmitting in 64QAM mode on the SDN multiplex. Viewers in Wales are not able to receive it, instead getting S4C.
Members of the Digital Spy forums are not exactly thrilled at the appearance of the channel, already available on digital satellite and cable, on the DTT platform - 'mithy73', a member from Bristol, expressed a desire to actually receive S4C like viewers in Wales rather than Bid-Up.
More comments:
'epsilon' - "it'd be worth learning Welsh just to escape from this";
'davep02' - "Great ....more rubbish to avoid .Apart from the BBC whats the point of having FREEVIEW .Loads of shopping channels aint going to push up FREEVIEW take up is it."
'SgtRock' - "Bid Up is so awful it is compulsive viewing."
