Virgin loses 3,000 customers' bank details
Published Saturday, Jun 21 2008, 12:19 BST | By Dave West

The company said an internal inquiry was underway into how the information had gone missing.
Virgin is in the process of informing the customers, who had all signed up to its services at Carphone Warehouse stores, according to The Register.
Having taken advice from the Information Commissioner the company is paying for credit file protection for the affected customers so their credit ratings cannot be affected and they are insured against fraud.
Virgin said it had never happened before and was contrary to its policy of transferring such details over the internet.
