Sky re-names upcoming music channels

Sky has re-named its three upcoming music channels to make them more appealing to viewers, Digital Spy has learned.

As reported last month, the broadcaster had planned to name the stations 'Axe', 'Pop' and 'Amp' when they launch in April this year. Following extensive audience research, however, they have been re-titled 'Scuzz', 'Gloss' and 'The Amp' respectively, in a bid to make them more "viewer-friendly".

Scuzz will have a rock and metal bias, whilst Gloss will have a modern pop playlist. The Amp will target an older audience with classic hits.

New Sky Networks CEO Dawn Airey is overseeing the launch of the channels.
